Amertha Bhavani Goes to Czech Republic, Day 7 (Aug 20, 2013) - Dobruska & Cerveny Kostelec

by - 5:23 PM

Today we moved to another city. Yeay! In the morning, when we were putting our bags into the bus, I saw Kuba was with another guy I had never seen before. I thought he was one of Kuba’s friends. He is good looking in a geeky way and more fluent in English. Later I found out that he is our new liaison officer in our next destination, Červený Kostelec. Double yeay! for knowing the fact that he was going to be with us for a long period (well, only 5 days actually). His actual name in Czech is Ondrej, but in English we call him Andrew (a photo of him is available on next post). He's very friendly and easy to talk to so we could already talk about many things with him.

And this is Kuba. He's actually a dancer too!

On the way to Červený, we stopped at two petrol stations. There we went to the toilets and bought some snacks at the mini mart. We were taken to a castle in a city I forgot its name. Actually I didn't know what place it was but it's quite interesting.

Surprisingly, there were delicious cakes! I was drooling suddenly. The weather was cold at that time but they sold cold cakes. I still wanted to try and bought the caramel puff. The puff was soft and the caramel cream was amazing. It was soft, moist, and not too sweet. It was a bit frozen which made it taste like an ice cream!

After that, we had lunch at a building. Here, we met the Venezuelans for the first time! They are much older than us, more like our uncles and aunts, or even grandparents. But we easily got along.

Let's go to our next destination. Nope, it's not Červený Kostelec yet. I didn't know that we had another visit. We arrived at a small city called Dobruška. The best part is we got a chance to visit the mayor's office and the city welcomed us officially. As a bonus, they gave us white wine! Cheers!

Highlights of Dobruška

With the mayor of Dobruška

There, we're only supposed to visit and explore the city. But suddenly we were asked to perform! Ow-kay. Talking about preparation, we were always ready if we're asked to perform. We just didn't expect that and the news came all of sudden so we were just not prepared mentally. The show must go on! We took our things we needed from the bus and prepared at a meeting room of Dobruška tourist information center. That also became our waiting room. The stage was outdoor so to get to the stage, we had to walk outside where many people could see us. The weather was freaking cold! We preferred to wait inside. While waiting, we could look at and buy some interesting souvenirs. There are big colored pencils and postcards made from thin woods.

And it was performance time! The show started with small ceremony where all the performers walked in line and came to to the stage all together. It turned out that the Venezuelans would also be performing. We met another Mexican group. They were different group from whom we met in Šumperk. This time, the group consist of younger people, more of like our age. The guys and girls look attractive and there was this one cute couple who caught our attention. Suddenly I felt more excited because I got to see different performances. Our dinner hasn't come yet. Thank God there were some food stalls. And there was this nice fried noodle sold by Vietnamese man. At the end of all performances, we gathered again at the stage for ending part. A woman from the festival gave speech and said some words from each countries' language!

It was dark already and finally we were really going to Červený Kostelec. We were given baguette for dinner at the bus. Oh my, we all couldn't eat that thing. It's as hard as rubber! We were directly taken to our place to stay. The building itself looks okay but the surroundings were.. kinda creepy since it's near big tall trees. We went inside and it was very dark because the lights were still off. We were sleepy and felt a bit scared at the same time. Suddenly, the lights turned on by itself which made all of us scream. It was an automatic lights. Then we laughed at ourselves after that. We were placed at the very top floor. After passing other floors, I found out that this place is pre-school. There were no elevators and only stairs, and it wasn't possible for each of us to carry our luggage to upstairs by ourselves. So we stood along the stairs and passed the luggage to save time. We directly divided ourselves in each room available. When we got to our rooms, all of our bad feelings were suddenly gone. The rooms are all nice! This is much better than our stay in Šumperk. The walls are painted in bright green color. But I think I got the best room. It was the biggest and one of which has bathroom since actually not all rooms have bathroom. There's a mini kitchen and dining table inside. Perfect! I shared this room with five others. We all were too happy and excited with our rooms so we felt less sleepy.

Sorry these pictures were only taken by my old phone and the resolution is not too good

Right outside the window we could see the big tall trees I'm talking about earlier. But watching the moon suddenly made us feel like in Twilight movie and hoped Edward Cullen came. Oh, did I mention that Andrew stayed at the same place, same floor with us the whole time while in here? We then made joke that we had our own Edward already at the other room.
