Amertha Bhavani Goes to Spain, Day 9 (Aug 9, 2015) - Portel, Portugal

by - 11:52 PM

Not my typical Sunday morning. We started the day by joining the second workshop, which is by Timor Leste and Uzbekistan. Timor Leste taught us Sepe Lari Lari dance, if I'm not mistaken. The routine is danced repetitively in a line while playing musical instrument for the beat. They taught us the steps first which I thought was easy to follow. But when I tried to dance it with the instrument, it became a lot harder! My legs and beat struggled to coordinate well. The Uzbekistan routine was very fun. They had more variation in the movements, from rolling the hands to head ticks.

That night, we left earlier because the journey took 2 hours, the longest we had among other venues. We had our schedules from the beginning and actually already looked through the venues. We were going to perform in Portel that night and we just knew that day it was in Portugal! Very excited indeed.

Usually we had dinner back at the uni first, but we didn't that night. We already underestimate that we would have another baguette, or we like to call it 'roti gebug' since most of the time they were very hard, almost impossible to bite. Turns out, it was the most pleasant dinner we had!

The place is just perfect. I assume it there isn't any event, the park would be empty. But that night, they put chairs and tables for people to have their meals and for the audience. Before they came, we were the one who were using it. The light decorations made it such a beautiful and enjoyable view. Great ambience, great food, we had a really good time that night. We brought our good mood on stage.

Some kind of potato, spinach, and fish gratin. Whatever it is, it is so damn good!
