WORLD OF NADA

It's like I'm destined to eat here before I go back home from Bali (read the story here). Located a few minutes away from the airport makes Bubba Gump a great place for having last meal.

This restaurant is perfect for family with its selection of food including steaks, burgers, and wide range of seafood. Some people think it's quite pricey, but I could say the portion is not small. You will feel welcomed by the friendly and cheerful waiters. Someone was having his birthday when I came and the waiters sang for him.

Bali has many beach clubs to spend your afternoon at. Being lazy while looking for crowds or joining the party, you can have it here. I only had the chance to visit these two beach clubs:

1. Potato Head

I didn't expect it would be so crowded when I came. This beach club has definitely gained its popularity, especially among youth. Upcoming events will be held here. I honestly feel it's too packed. I remember the last time I came, people only sit at where they are supposed to be, not on the park.

At first, I came only for its apple crumble. But mom wanted to try the pork ribs. I was actually full but still said yes when she asked me to divide the ribs. I was disappointed with the apple crumble, it was not tasty as it is supposed to be. But... that pork ribs did explode in my mouth! Even though I only had one pork ribs in other place before, I could already say that this is the best pork ribs I've ever had. Really, it is well-seasoned, comes off the bone easily, and melts in my mouth. Oh gosh, I'm drooling now. So, if you don't have time to go to pork ribs-specialty restaurant, trying here would be worth it and more than enough.

2. Mozaic
We went here because we didn't have any idea where to go. Again, mom suggested this place to relax (she's more Bali expert than me, I thought. Hmm). The fact that the place is not too big and maybe it wasn't peak hour makes me enjoy the place more. A good reading makes it perfect. Since I wasn't looking for sun, the heat is the only turn-off.

Too late for breakfast, too early for lunch. That is what's called a brunch. Bali's nightlife makes people tend to get up late, skip breakfast, and look for a pleasant brunch. I only stayed up late once though while in here. It is just me who usually wake up late during holidays, oops.. So here I give you some nice brunch spots to try.

1. Watercress

Yes, I heard about this restaurant a lot but my mom is the one who insisted going here. Standing in a small neighbourhood with green surroundings and rustic design make this place very comfortable. It is packed with families and group of friends when I came.

I had to wait so long for one of the menu I ordered. The waiter noticed she forgot to take the order. Despite the inconvenience, I really enjoyed my brunch. Watercress provides typical Western menu and healthy juices which I love.

Watercress Eggs Benedict (Rp80.000)

Watercress Eggs Florentine (Rp70.000)

House Juice Blends
Enriching - mango, strawberry, orange and Cleansing - apple, carrot, ginger, lime (both Rp40.000)

2. The Junction

When I saw this restaurant for the first time two years ago, the interesting interior caught my eyes. The reason I came back is because I miss its Ocean Salad and Gnocchi. The salad has this nice sour taste and the seafood taste so fresh. How about the gnocchi? As I remember, this potato and pesto gnocchi with blue cheese sauce is supposed to be oh-so-good, but when I had it that day it was too salty.

3. Sea Circus

Another place that made me curious after I saw it on my timeline. This colourful house does really grab my attention. I actually wanted to try its breakfast menu but I came late so it is not available anymore, too bad. Besides typical Western food, it also provides Mexican food such as tortilla wrap, quesadillas, and taco. I ended up with the taco since I wanted something light.

I just realised they gave me prawn taco instead of pork one after I took a snap of it. It looks tasty, though.
