Seville, My Most Favorite City in Spain

Pretty Seville during sunset
Seville is located in southern Spain, the capital of Andalucia, and the 4th largest city in Spain. Like Madrid, this is the city that I love instantly. Within my first day, I already could list some things that I love about this city. It is not too crowded and more settled, I think I spotted more good looking people and they seem to be nicer, and the view in every corner seems to be great. Among other cities that I've visited in Spain, Seville has been by far my most favorite.
Writing my Spain posts, I comment so much about metro stations. Compared to Barcelona and Madrid, Seville's are the best. The stations and the train itself are not big, but they are definitely way more comfortable. The air-cons are well-functioned too. We didn't know how to buy the tickets with the machine, there was a staff standing nearby. He was an old man and we underestimated him at first. Surprisingly, his English is very fluent and he was very helpful!

So, which places to visit while in Seville? Here are some that I visited:
1. Sierpes - Tetuan Street
The city center of Seville. Get off at Puerta de Jeres station and you will find a one-stop entertainment. Attractions, shops, restaurants, everything is all here starting from Avenida de la Constitutión until Plaza Nueva. These places could be explored by walking or try the tram if you are tired.

2. Catedral de Sevilla - Giralda Tower
Used to be a mosque and now this building becomes one of the biggest churches in the world. Before entering the church, there is a museum where we can see statues and paintings. The church is also the burial site of Christopher Columbus and the access to Giralda Tower where we can see beautiful view of the city from above.

3. Real Alcázar
A palace complex with a mix of different architecture design, from Mudéjar (muslim) to gothic. Upper part of the palace is still used by the royal family as official residence and for various events. Beside buildings, there is a beautiful park with fountain at the complex.

4. Plaza de España
One of famous and a must-visit place in Seville. It is originally built in 1929 as one of Ibero-American Exposition pavilions, but then remains for long-term use. The plaza has also been used for Star Wars filming location. This place is now used as government building and city square.

5. Golden Tower
Built around 1220, Golden Tower is the last large building built by the Muslims in Seville. The perfect time to enjoy Golden Tower is during sunset when the bright lights make the tower looks gold.

What's more?
1. There are several bullfighting and flamenco shows in Seville. However, I came in August and there is no bullfighting held during the month. Better browse the schedules first. As alternatives, you can visit bullfighting and flamenco museums instead.
2. Nervión Plaza is the best getaway mall. There are famous Spanish fashion brands like Bershka, H&M, Pull&Bear, etc. There are also local boutiques and El Corte Ingles department store nearby.
3. Nervión is the best neighbourhood to stay. Me and my friends stayed in Novotel Nervión and the location is perfect. It only takes 5 minutes to get to the metro station and a few minutes away from Nervión Plaza. There are several mini markets nearby and a cheap restaurant that opens until late right beside the hotel.
4. For souvenirs, fans are the best option. In Plaza Nueva, there are many shops selling various kinds of fans ranging from the cheap to high quality with expensive price.
