WORLD OF NADA

Had a two-hour drive to Melaka. We're not in Melaka yet, but we stopped at Mini Malaysia & ASEAN Cultural Park. It's filled with Malaysian and ASEAN countries traditional houses. My city also has one like this called Taman Mini Indonesia Indah which only displays Indonesia's traditional house (we have 34 provinces!). But I think in Malaysia, they really take care of the place so it was clean, well-functioned, and very interesting to see. Too bad we could only see the Malaysian houses, the ASEAN countries were being renovated :(.

Finally made it to Melaka. It is the center of Peranakan culture and you can see old buildings with Portuguese, Dutch, and British touch. At first sight, it reminds me of Kota Tua in Jakarta. We had city tour with becak. It was so fun looking through the city and we still could stop at some spots. I felt like I was taken back to the past.

After sightseeing with becak, we walked around at Jonker Street. Here you can see more of Peranakan culture. There is so much to see from temples, shops that sell unique things you might not find anywhere else, mosques, restaurants, and street food. Very interesting!

Baba & Nyonya Peranakan Museum.
Really wanted to go inside but it was closed when I came.

The view would be more interesting at night but we preferred to go back to KL because it would be too long if we waited.

Arrived in KL, our driver showed us Jalan Alor from the car. From what I saw, I just couldn't only look at it, I had to get off from the car right away because it's a street full of food! Locals and tourists were having a great time. This is my kind of heaven. I was speechless. Those food were irresistible, I wanted to try them all. Good thing about not going alone is you could try everything at once without being too full. We're not going anywhere after this, either. Let's party, then! A great day indeed, and a happy tummy :). Since it's very crowded, better keep an eye of your belongings.
