WORLD OF NADA

Who isn't familiar with The Mulia Bali? I've seen this a lot on my Instagram timeline. Anybody who goes to Bali post their pictures here, whether they're staying or not. The Instagenic spot is the tall statues. It looks amazing to me and makes me curious.
While in here, I don't want to miss the chance. I became so excited as I arrived. The lobby already amazed me. I see the colour of luxury. Then I walked forward to the outside and wow.. what a beautiful view I saw. The rooms, the pool, the bars, just perfect.

When I reached down, more stunning details I got. Suddenly I feel like I wanted to get changed in swimsuit and dip in the pool.

The colour of the sun beds blend with the sand

I finally found the statues. However, they are actually in the private area so I couldn't get the best angle of it but at least I'm not curious anymore.

To stay longer here, I ordered a drink at The Soleil, the hotel restaurant at the pool area. I could sit comfortably on the sofa, chill, read a book, and watch people. Everybody seems to have a good time here. Well, who doesn't?

Enjoying my Pomme Vanile (apple juice, mint, lime, and vanilla syrup) at The Soleil

It was such a great experience even though I was here only for a few hours. Every part in Mulia Bali seems to be interesting and attract my attention. I really should have a stay here someday.

On our second night until the last, we stayed at Umalas Hotel & Residence. I didn't know mom already booked the room. When we arrived at night, the location already turned me off. There is nothing around the hotel and it's not a walking distance to the heart of Seminyak, even though it's only a few minutes by car. Another turn off is the wi-fi. It is very slow and I even couldn't load Instagram. I would forgive if my own mobile signal was okay, but it was actually not. The signal is very bad in the whole hotel area.

For the room itself, it is quite comfortable. We stayed in Two Bedrooms Superior that equipped with a bathroom, electric stove, coffee and tea maker, refrigerator, dining table, living room, and a TV. This reminds me of Apartment Setiabudi in Bandung. Unfortunately, the hygiene is very poor. We found spider-web in master room, right at the above of the bed and some furnitures were dusty. However, the staffs are very friendly and fast-response.

Since I love crowds, I wouldn't think of staying here again. They really need to improve the wi-fi and make final check of the room before letting guests come inside.

The reason why I stayed here is because mom got a complimentary voucher we could use. We really don't mind trying to stay there since the location is very okay, which is in Kuta, one of crowded area in Bali. Besides, we stayed there only for a night. Right in front of the hotel, you will find nothing actually, only a car park and a small shop. But walk a few meters to the main street, there is Laota, a Chinese restaurant that is well-known for its porridge and Circle K convenience store.

As we arrived, they offered us welcome drinks which is refillable and we could take by ourselves. After checking in, we were taken to our room. I had no idea that all of the rooms are located on separate area next to the concierge.

Guest Room main door

When the door opened, I only found chair and tables with umbrella but when I turned left.. what a nice alley I saw. I passed so many doors and I found out that these doors lead to Deluxe rooms. This is a different yet nice concept, I think.

But since I got Standard one, I had to take the stairs to reach the room. My first impression was the room is hot. The air-conditioner takes a while to be working at its best. But once it gets cold, I have no problem. The room has everything I expected it to have and it even has more, a sunbed outside of the room! Who would have thought? Wi-fi is also working well and fast. When the night came and as I got more time to spend in the room, some inconvenience arose. I found out that the room is not sound-proof. I could hear outside noise very clearly. There is connecting door in my room with a room next to me and turns out the room had a guest. They were a family, just came back at night, I could hear them being very noisy, and suddenly the kids were trying to open the connecting door! Aaarrggghh...

As usual, already messy with our stuff

Sun-bed outside of the room

The complimentary voucher is already included breakfast. I rarely booked a hotel room with breakfast because I usually get up late and past breakfast time. But when the concierge told me breakfast is open from 6 am to 10.30 am, I thought maybe I could have it. I didn't expect myself to wake up early that day which made me able to enjoy my breakfast. I had been craving for eggs so that is the one I was looking for. We could ask the eggs to be cooked in many ways. For other choice, well there are white rice, fried rice, side dishes, mini pancakes, and cereals, but I just feel I want more options.

Despite some inconvenience, overall I had a great stay and wouldn't mind staying here again. Try the Deluxe room, maybe?

I thought I wouldn't go anywhere this holiday, but my cousin who lives in Singapore was getting married so I came back to Singapore after around 4 months. I had 5 days to spend but I used the first 2 days to help everybody regarding the wedding. I couldn't go anywhere, though. Singapore was raining all the time which isn't very convenient to walk around. Since I went to many places in this trip, instead of telling the story on each day, I'll just blog about the places one by one. Stay tuned! First of all, I'm going to review the hotel I was staying at. My cousin's place was packed with people and it is too far from city centre so my mom and I decided to stay at a hotel this time. We stayed at Hotel Jen Orchardgateway.

The best thing about the hotel is the location: perfect! It is located at the centre and the heart of Singapore. It is only a minute away from Somerset station, which is a station before/after Orchard. You can even go to Somerset 313 within a few steps. The building is just right behind it. When you come inside, you'll only find receptionist desk. The guest service for checking in is located at 10th floor, the bar and restaurant are there too. So basically the 10th floor is the actual main lobby. There are different elevators here that bring you to the room. I had Deluxe room which is located at the very top, 20th floor. Talking about the room, I love it very much. It is spacious and comfortable. Everything was working well. The wi-fi connection is available all over the building. The view from my room was not special in daylight, though. Only a view of buildings. It is prettier at night where there are lights. On each floor, there are trolleys provided for luggage.

When my mom said we were going to stay here, I browsed for it first. I fell in love with the pool and couldn't wait to be there. According to the bad weather and I kept going out, I just had time to experience the pool for real on last day. It is the first hot day while I was there. The pool is located at 19th floor. Since I would be leaving that night, I only took pictures here before I went out. I wish I had one more day to jump and swim, or only to chill there.

So sorry I can't give any description about breakfast. My mom only booked the room without breakfast since I wake up very late on holidays, hehe. They hold Ladies Night every Friday night for only $15++ with free flow of drinks.
