WORLD OF NADA

I was happy knowing my cousin and her friends would gather in Chinatown because I also wanted to go here. When I only passed this to reach Potato Head in September, I just wanted more of Chinatown.

And here I was, stepping out from exit A of Chinatown station. This exit for me is like an entrance of paradise that leads you directly to Pagoda Street. In September, it was late afternoon, the sky was turning dark, and the lanterns were beautifully lit. I gasped, was walking and looking around in awe. They were just too pretty for me. This time, it was a bright day so I could see the colourful walls. I smiled when walking.

Many souvenirs with good price could be found here. You can get more discounts if you buy in bulk. In my case, the souvenirs are only interesting to be seen, because I love the food more. Talking about food, you can find almost everything. There are a lot to choose from the restaurants and food street.

We ended up eating at Yum Cha. I just knew it was that famous at that time. First, my cousin's friend said he found a great dim sum restaurant while browsing. Second, I saw the big sign right in front of me. Yeah, you won't be having any trouble finding the restaurant. Don't be confused when you enter the building, it's located on the second floor.

I like the look and layout of the restaurant. It's clean, simple, spacious, and comfortable. For the food, well.. it's good but nothing special. I mean most dim sum restaurants have their own standard so for me it's just like any other dim sum restaurant.

I still haven't got the chance to try the food from Chinatown Food Street. I know the food is mainly the same like chicken rice, dim sum, seafood, etc. But still, I want to try one of them at least, and eat there because the atmosphere is different.

Oh, you can enjoy free wi-fi here. Just look at the sign provided all around.

Clarke Quay is my ideal place for afternoon-night getaway. You get the food, the crowd, and the ambience. You can have a relaxing walk while it's still bright since there aren't many people yet, sitting on the riverside, or even choose the restaurant if you want to eat later. The restaurants provide around the world cuisine, but the price are mostly expensive.

You can even take the Singapore River Cruise ride that passes Boat Quay, Clarke Quay, and Marina Bay. The ticket price is SGD22 for adults and 12 for children. The journey takes 40 minutes. But don't worry if you feel it's a bit expensive or the journey is too long. They provide partial journey where you can stop at particular point and you can even pay with your EZ-Link card.

And here comes the night. Bright lights? Crowd? Check. I came twice and I didn't explore up until to this point at first because it was raining and I was already tired. Thank God it was a such a nice weather on the next day and even the best weather so far while I was here. I didn't expect that people can actually sit along the bridge. So bring along your friends and have a great night here!

I realized I've been a couple of times going to Singapore, but how come I've never taken any picture in Merlion? I know it sounds so tourist-y, but it's one of Singapore landmarks after all. Everybody take pictures there. So here we go.

The weather was such a turn off. I arrived at the nearest station which is Raffles Place but it was raining! So I walked around the basement of One Raffles Place mall and I found a treasure: food court. There are many mouth-watering food. They looked so good. I was full actually, but I still wanted to try one. I ended up trying this Strawberry Cheesecake Tart from Fancy Delights. Oh my God it's so good! I am still curious with other flavors until now. They provide many kinds of cold tarts and egg tarts.

The afternoon stroll began. I had to walk quite far from Raffles Place to reach Merlion, and there was still few drops of rain. I never pass the area so it's new to me and I really enjoyed it.
When I arrived in Merlion, there were many people. Everybody took pictures and so did I. The background is amazing.

They even build restaurants under the bridge!

I really had a good time here despite the rain. The area is perfect for afternoon chill. I also spotted some people having their afternoon run, some even led by coach. They seemed to be in a training program or something.

My mom thought this was Clarke Quay because they look similar. This is actually Boat Quay. There are many restaurants and bars along the side of the river. I saw more foreigner customers than the locals. No doubt since this is business district.

Even though the ticket price is expensive, I still suggest you to enter both domes. They are worth a visit. Nothing's different on my second visit. I can see things more clearly though since it was already dark on my first. Just like in Flower Dome, it is very cold here. The coldest spot is in front of the waterfall.

The part I love most is the skywalk, I can see all things inside and outside the dome in a more beautiful way. The highest is called the Cloud Walk and the second one is Tree Top Walk. I don't recommend to try walking here for those who are afraid of heights, even to those who thought they weren't. My mom was suddenly felt dizzy and couldn't breathe. Yeah, I've been through that and I know how that feels. Very scary I know. She finally managed to walk through the Tree Top Walk, though.

Then you'll pass this laboratory that explains about the earth. I am so not interested in this kind of thing so I was just looking around and take pictures, but I personally think it is a very great media for learning, even for kids.

The spot I hate the most. The first time I passed this, I screamed and ran.
It was very dark so it looked even scarier! I got used to it,
I prepared myself, but still.. scary enough
